Former Trump adviser John Bolton expected to plead guilty in classified information case

Former national security adviser John Bolton will plead guilty to withholding classified information in a private diary and exposing it to two unauthorized people.

Multiple reports claim that Bolton, who was an adviser to President Trump from April 2018 to September 2019, has agreed to plead guilty. He faces up to 60 months in prison and a $2.25 million fine.

A person familiar with the investigation told MS NOW that the two unauthorized people exposed to the secret information were his wife and daughter.

Bolton has been an outspoken critic of the 79-year-old president and has accused the Republican leader of attacking him because of his public opposition.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) raided his home in August last year in connection with the investigation.

In October he was indicted on 10 counts of withholding national defense information and eight counts of transmitting national defense information by a federal grand jury in Maryland.

The documents reveal that he kept or shared more than 1,000 pages of confidential information.

Reports suggest that Bolton would plead guilty during the next hearing in his case in US District Court in Greenbelt on June 26.
