The National Assembly (NA) on Monday passed a unanimous resolution expressing a deep sense of national pride and highlighting the unparalleled professionalism, vigilance, extraordinary preparedness and determined response demonstrated by the armed forces on May 10, 2025, in the face of unprovoked and unjustified Indian aggression.

The resolution moved by Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar deplored that following the Pahalgam terrorist incident on April 22, 2025, in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), India immediately orchestrated a “malicious campaign” and amplified its state-sponsored media to baselessly implicate Pakistan without any evidence or investigation, even though the incident was categorically condemned by the government.

He stated that the House condemned that despite a sincere and generous offer by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to participate in any neutral, transparent and credible investigation into what was described as a false flag operation, India proceeded to launch an unprovoked airstrike against Pakistan on May 6, 2025, targeting innocent civilians.

The National Assembly paid high tributes to the armed forces who, under the leadership and command of Prime Minister Shehbaz and Chief of Defense Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, launched Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, providing a befitting response to the aggression.

He also expressed his gratitude to all officers, soldiers, airmen and sailors of the armed forces for making Operation Bunyanum Marsoos a success through bravery, professionalism and sacrifice.

He further stated that in retaliatory strikes, the armed forces attacked and destroyed an Indian brigade headquarters as well as air force and aviation bases, including BrahMos facilities, which had fired missiles at Pakistan and killed innocent civilians. He added that JF-17 Thunder jets destroyed India’s $1.5 billion S-400 air defense system.

The house also praised Pakistan Navy for its strategic preparedness and robust response, which successfully thwarted intrusion attempts and forced the enemy to retreat.

It honored the martyrs of the armed forces who laid down their lives in the line of duty and inflicted defeat on a numerically superior enemy in all domains of warfare including land, air, sea and cyber.

The resolution recognized the contribution and technical expertise of Pakistani cyber warfare experts in countering cyber attacks by Indian hackers, stating that several Indian strategic systems were left dysfunctional.
