A boxer was knocked out in the first five seconds of a fight on Friday, but many fans have red flags.

Edwin Castillo, 23, lost his fight to Viktor Jurk, 26, in a heavyweight bout on the undercard of Karen Chukhadzhian vs. Paddy Donovan in Germany.

Jurk landed a devastating left hook just as the two met in the middle of the ring, and Castillo fell directly to the canvas.

Jurk was quite nonchalant after the hit as Castillo lay on the floor, prompting an announcer to say that the medics should be in the ring.

Medical staff tended to Castillo as the referee walked away, but fans were quick to notice some oddities in the brief fight.

Jurk was almost immediately punished for tricking Castillo into touching gloves, a sign of respect, at the start of the fight. They touched gloves before the bell rang.

“He was trying to touch the gloves and got punched (sic),” wrote one X user.

“He ignored the gentleman’s touch to set this hook. That’s super unfair…” wrote another.

“Looks like the guy in the blue underpants put on a glove to tap in sportsmanship and then when the guy in red went to tap the blue underpants, he swung with his other hand,” said one more.

However, others thought that it was all part of a plan by both fighters.

“Fake as shit, look at how he lowered his arm to break his fall, he should be on the Olympic swim team with a jump like that,” one reviewer wrote.

One more said: “For the newbies. This is called ‘diving in.'”

Others noted that Jurk’s punch did not land solidly on Castillo’s head or face. However, Castillo remained on the canvas for more than two minutes.

In any case, it was the 12th knockout of Jurk’s career, as he reached a record of 14-0. Castillo is now 13-3, with all three losses in his last four fights.
