PUBG: Battlegrounds Director Taeseok Jang has said that the recent high-profile failure of live service games like Concord and High guard is disappointing, but sees them as a learning opportunity for developers.
Speaking to GamesRadar+, Jang said that “it’s very difficult to always be successful” when creating new games. He continued: “I try to put myself in their position and I try to think, ‘oh, what could I have done better in that situation?'”
He explained that ultimately the goal is to “try to learn from it” and avoid the same mistakes.

Sony’s online shooter Concord was released for PlayStation 5 and PC on August 23, 2024. It only managed to attract just under 700 players on launch day on Steam, according to data from SteamDB. This is an almost incredibly poor result for a major game that would indicate catastrophically low sales, even when taking into account possible copies ported to consoles.
