- The next Xbox Developer Direct will take place this month
- There will be new looks Doom: The Middle Ages and South of midnight
- Dark Glade: Expedition 33 and another game will also be shown
It’s time to mark your calendars once again, Xbox bosses, as a new Developer Direct presentation has been announced for this month.
The official Xbox Wire post has all the details and sets the Developer Direct presentation for January 23 at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT. As always, it will be broadcast at that time on official Xbox channels such as YouTube.
Four games will be shown in this Xbox Developer Direct. The first is that of id Studios. Doom: The Middle Ages, a new prequel that takes place before the first events of the legendary demon-slaying first-person shooter series.
The next one is South of midnight of Compulsion Games. Xbox claims this new look will be a “deep dive” into the upcoming action-adventure title. That’s great news, as we’ve only seen brief snippets of gameplay and trailers so far, and we still don’t know what the overall experience could actually be like.
The latest game confirmed for Xbox Developer Direct is Sandfall Interactive Dark Glade: Expedition 33, A highly anticipated AAA turn-based RPG with a stacked voice cast including Charlie Cox and Andy Serkis. Final Fantasy 16‘s Ben Starr and Baldur’s Gate 3‘s Jennifer English. It’s one of my most anticipated releases this year and I can’t wait to hear more about it.
Finally, Developer Direct will visit a “surprise location” to check out a mysterious “new game.” Xbox hasn’t revealed what this game is, of course, but there are some notable pioneers from Xbox Game Studios in Fableperfect darkness, and Gears of War: E-Day
If I were a betting man, I’d bet money that it would be Fable. Based on its most recent trailer, we know that it is slated for a ‘2025’ release window. That said, we haven’t seen much in terms of gameplay. As such, this Developer Direct is the opportune time to throw the doors wide open for the return of one of Xbox’s most beloved franchises.
