Islamabad:
The authorities have decided to launch immediate repression against illegal foreigners in the Federal Capital and four adjacent districts: Rawalpindi, Atock, Murree and Haripur, as part of a plan to declare them “safe areas.”
According to the plan, the data of the illegal residents will be compiled, their access to mobile Sims and the issuance of stamps documents for property transactions or other prohibited financial treatment are blocked. The attached commissioners and police chiefs of the District of the five districts have been ordered to present weekly progress reports.
The decision was taken during a high -level meeting of the special task force, chaired by the president of the CDA and the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, at the CDA headquarters.
Senior officials of the Ministry of Interior, the National Database and Registry Authority (NADRA), the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the Terrorism Department (CTD), the Afghan Commission and the district administrations of the five districts attended.
The meeting decided to take strict and immediate measures against foreigners residing without valid visas. A centralized database will be developed that contains details such as identities, residential addresses and other relevant information to avoid rehabilitation in the future.
Randhawa instructed officials to strengthen the coordination and exchange of data with FIA, NADRA and other agencies. In addition, he directed a strict application of the lease laws, with an action against unregistered foreign tenants living in houses or hotels. The Telecommunications Authority of Pakistan has also been told that SIM does not issue foreigners without valid visas.
It was agreed that illegal foreigners would also be prohibited from property transactions through bell documents. Randhawa emphasized that the government is determined to guarantee safety and stability by enforcing the law against illegal migrants, and all agencies work together for a permanent solution.
