Marvel has finally revealed who will become the next Black Panther, but the announcement has divided fans.
While many are happy with the choice, others still believe another actor should have gotten the role.
Director Ryan Coogler confirmed at San Diego Comic Con that David Jonsson will play T’Challa’s adult son in Black Panther 3.
The character was first seen as a child at the end of Black Panther: Wakanda forever.
In the new film, he will grow up and take on the role of Black Panther.
Shortly after the announcement, fans took to social media to share their thoughts, as many are excited to see Jonsson join the Marvel family.
However, they highlighted his performances in Alien: Romulus and The Long Walk, saying that he has already proven that he can carry a great film.
One fan called him “an absolutely incredible actor,” while another said Marvel made the perfect decision.
But not everyone agreed, as many fans admitted that they were hoping to see Damson Idris play the role.
Some said Idris was always their first choice, although they believe Jonsson will do a good job.
Others had a different concern, questioning why Marvel decided to focus on T’Challa’s son instead of recasting the original Black Panther.
Some also wondered how the story would explain the young man becoming an adult so quickly.
