- Two filtered images supposedly reveal the next Sony A7 V
- One shows the sensor resolution, the other rear camera design
- It could be launched in October or November 2025
The year 2021. That is how much was that Sony introduced the current A7 IV and raised the bar for cameras without average rank mirror.
The 33MP complete frame model is still a remarkably capable SUV, but lost first place in our best mirror -free camera guide for the R6 Mark II fee and, consequently, the Nikon Z6 III uniform.
However, there is good news for Sony fans, because we could have seen the first leaked images of the A7 IV successor, the A7 V.
The new camera has shared what they say are two images of Sony A7 V that apparently reveal the sensor resolution and the Welcome Design updates of the A7 IV.
This year there has been a lot of speculation about what the A7 V will bring to the table and the filtered images apparently pour cold water on the dreams of a significant update.
However, there is still much that we do not know and speculation should be taken with a pinch of salt, regardless of how reliable the source is. Let’s take a look at what is said.
A half -ranking mirror shaking?
Middle -rank -free cameras tend to reach the sweet price / performance point and that is exactly what the Sony A7 IV did four years ago.
Since then, however, Canon and Nikon have established new standards in this class: EOS R6 Mark II and Z6 III shoot faster, and their video specifications go out to A7 IV out of the water.
They have put the heat in Sony, whose original A7 series has long been one of the best sellers. So, will the medium range market get another shake if A7 V arrives?
One of the filtered images shows the rear screen with the resolution of the camera that is shown: 33MP large, medium of 14MP, 8.2MP small. This suggests that the A7 V resolution does not change the A7 IV of 33MP, which still exceeds the rivals today.
What we do not know is whether it is the same sensor as before, one reviewed or a new one. For example, the Nikon Z6 III has a 24MP 24MP sensor faster, while premium models such as Nikon Z8 and Canon Eos R5 II have a completely stacked sensor faster.
A new type of sensor would increase performance, effectively eliminating the distortion of the shutter that affects the A7 IV in video and a gust shot, as well as forming the rock bed to improve the performance that the A7 V match could see or overcome its rivals, and with a sensor of greater resolution.
The second filtered image reveals a section of the rear of the A7 V, which suggests that the A7 V could obtain a tactile inclination screen / 2-axis varii angle as in A1 II, although the grip could remain in a style similar to the existing A7 models.
The new camera has speculated on other improvements that we could expect with sense, promoting the 20 -fps gust shot, Sony’s chip to improve the automatic subject detection approach, a 4K 60 FPS video without charging, a greater resolution evf and a better image stabilization in the body.
It is also believed that Sony A7 V will come this year, potentially an October or November launch. There is also news of a Canon Eos R6 Mark III by 2025, supposedly with the 32MP sensor we saw in the recent EOS C50. Such a launch burst would really shake the middle -rank market.
We will share more thoughts about the rumored Sony A7 V soon, unpacking the updates that we believe that Sony needs to deliver to present a convincing case about its rivals. Are attentive to that piece.
