He’s providing courtroom drama… with a side of marital tension.
Ryan Reynolds is publicly holding his own alongside Blake Lively, but behind the scenes, the tone might be a little less superhero, a little more “can we get this over with?”
like him Gossip Girl As the student’s legal battle with Justin Baldoni nears trial, Reynolds has now been drawn directly into the spotlight as a potential witness. And according to experts, that’s not exactly his dream role.
“Ryan fully supports it publicly,” a source said. “But in private? He wants this to be resolved.”
Because at this point, it’s not just Lively’s fight anymore.
“This is drawing him in, and he knows it,” the source added. “He doesn’t want to be dragged into court.”
It’s understandable, considering what’s at stake.
“He’s worried this will destroy him, too,” the source said. “Your brand, your reputation, everything.”
And things aren’t exactly getting any easier. After reports of legal setbacks and dismissed claims, some close to the situation are questioning the game plan.
“A lot of people think this should have been resolved by now,” the source said. “Now it’s getting bigger, more complicated and harder to control.”
Will Reynolds potentially take the stand? That’s where things get really awkward.
“That’s a nightmare scenario for him,” the source said. “He’s part of history now, whether he likes it or not.”
Meanwhile, Lively won’t be going on hiatus anytime soon.
“She’s not going to back down,” the source said. “But he wants her to.”
In other words?
“He wants to get out… before this takes them both down.”
For those who don’t know, Justin Baldoni and Lively’s trial is scheduled to begin on May 18, with three of the 13 claims Lively initially filed.
At a recent hearing, the judge dismissed all 10 claims for lack of merit.
