Eric Roberts has finally set the record straight about his relationship with his sister, Julia Roberts, ending years of speculation that the famous siblings were embroiled in a bitter feud.

During an appearance at It happened in Hollywood On the April 14 podcast, the 69-year-old actor insisted that the breakup rumors are completely false and that the couple has always maintained a bond of mutual respect.

While he admitted that they have their fair share of “day-to-day disagreements” like any other brother, Eric confirmed that he and the pretty woman star get along perfectly well.

Addressing the long-running gossip, Eric told host Seth Abramovitch: “It’s not true, it never was. We’re fine.”

He went on to describe Julia, 58, as a “great kid” and a “wonderful human,” and particularly praised her skills as a mother to his three children.

Eric explained that the couple rarely talks about each other to the media because they don’t like how the press often tries to frame their relationship as a “feud.”

He noted that because they never run for the same roles, there has never been professional competition between them, despite how the public may perceive their careers.

The clarification comes several years after Eric made controversial comments to vanity fairstating that Julia and her daughter, Emma Roberts, only found fame thanks to him.

Since then, he has been on a mission to make amends, describing those past comments as “stupid,” “unfortunate” and “untrue.”

In his 2024 memoirs, Runaway train: or, The story of my life so farpublicly apologized to Julia, whom he affectionately calls “Julie,” acknowledging that she is a “very motivated woman” who would have taken Hollywood by storm with or without her help.

He admitted that his previous statements were the result of misplaced pride rather than reality.

Today, the actor seems content to simply be a supportive brother, telling the podcast, “I really like my sister. I’m impressed with her wonderful career.”

It seems that for the Roberts family, the focus has shifted away from the Hollywood rivalry and back to the simple day-to-day reality of being siblings.
