At a recent meeting at the White House, US President Trump momentarily fell asleep.
The incident sparked speculation about the 79-year-old president’s health, with a leading medical expert indicating the symptoms could indicate sleep apnea.
This video, which was recorded at the Oval Office affordability event on Thursday, shows Trump sitting with his eyes closed, jaw hanging and head bowed. Although the White House has not issued any medical warnings, it has generated many discussions on social media.
A medical expert, Dr. Jonathan Reiner, professor of Medicine and Surgery associated with cnnintervened in the matter.
Reiner wrote on
“The president continues to struggle with daytime sleepiness. This is a common problem and there are things that can be done to improve these symptoms,” he added.
In medical terms, sleep apnea is a condition in which the patient suffers from a pattern of interruptions in breathing while sleeping.
The White House does not recognize any such medical condition and President Trump has yet to undergo an annual physical exam officially scheduled for 2026, although he is known to undergo semiannual physical exams. President Trump, who will turn 80 in June, has been seen holding fewer public meetings than during his first presidential term.
Regarding the president’s health, Congressman Ted Lieu said: “There is something mentally wrong with the president of the United States. There is also something physically wrong…he can’t stay awake at public events with cameras rolling.”
However, the White House has maintained the position of Trump’s good health. No official medical evaluation has been released so far.
In light of these growing concerns, another video of Trump is circulating in which he can be seen falling asleep and violently hitting his head on the desk. However, that specific video is fake and AI-generated.
