In about six weeks, arguably the most anticipated UFC event of all time will take place, when some of the best fighters in the world will take to the Octagon on the South Lawn of the White House.
UFC Freedom 250, also known as UFC White House, will take place on June 14, President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday, to commemorate America’s 250th birthday.
Ring announcer Bruce Buffer is limiting his enthusiasm for the moment, saying he has “a lot of other exciting things to do before that,” but “I’m going to get really excited that week.”

But although he reserves his excitement until it gets closer, he already knows the importance of the event.
“I think because of the amount of publicity it’s going to get and everything else, it’s going to be one of the most watched, not the most watched, UFC events ever,” Buffer told Pak Gazette Digital.
“Obviously, it’s an honor for the fighters to fight on the White House lawn and an honor for me to announce and do my part. It’s another show, but it’s going to be a show, that’s for sure.”
However, some UFC fans were quite disappointed when the card was announced. Conor McGregor’s long-awaited return, which fans wanted to be against Michael Chandler, isn’t happening, and while everyone was clamoring for a heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall, that’s not happening either.

The card is still nothing to sneeze at, however, as Justin Gaethje and Ilia Topuria will headline the UFC Lightweight Championship event, with Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane co-main eventing.
“It’s an exciting card. Listen, every time the fans say it’s a little disappointing or whatever, it makes for one of the most exciting events out there,” Buffer said. “There are fight nights where you don’t recognize some of the names and you’re like, ‘Oh, what’s this all about?’ Then you see the fights and you say, ‘Oh my God, look at these fights.’ They’re amazing.’ Good?
“All I can say is appreciate the fact that they have UFC entertainment to watch, that they are providing entertainment value and that the fighters are putting their blood, sweat and tears on the line. There are a lot of events, not all of them will have Jon Jones and Conor. And I think whenever they come and fight again, I would love to see Jon fight again. I would love to see Conor fight again. But until then, we have a lot of great fighters out there. There are a lot of great fights to see, so for me always It’s exciting.”
