Country music star Blake Shelton showed up at Indiana Fever practice and Sophie Cunningham was stunned.

Cunningham, 29, was in the middle of practice when he saw the eight-time Grammy nominee and lost all concentration.

Cunningham approached Shelton with his mouth open and simply said, “I’ve lost all concentration. Stop it.”

Shelton showed her his personalized Fever jersey, with his own last name and the number 7. He then hugged her and told her it was a pleasure to meet her.

Cunningham looked incredulous at Shelton’s shirt and said, “That’s so cool.” Shortly after, Fever coach Stephanie White introduced Shelton to the entire team.

Caitlin Clark appeared in the video welcoming Shelton to practice. The 49-year-old abandoned the practice after taking a few photographs and said: “See you around!”

Cunningham seized the moment and responded, “See you around, Blake,” while laughing.

The Fever met with Shelton a day before playing their second preseason game. They won their first preseason game 109-91 over the New York Liberty, despite Clark not shooting well.

Clark was 2-of-10 shooting as he looked to shake off the rust after playing in just 13 games last season while dealing with a litany of injuries. Cunningham scored 13 points, two rebounds, one assist and two steals in the victory in just 14 minutes of work.

Cunningham, like Clark, is also returning from injury this season. He tore his MCL last August and missed the rest of the season.

The Fever’s second preseason game is against the Dallas Wings on Thursday at 7 pm ET.
