PlayStation is no stranger to limited edition or new color accessories, and perhaps no product gets that treatment more than the DualSense wireless controller. For many, the unique designs and fresh look allow them to match the controller to whatever game they are playing, or even their personality.
While I’m still holding out hope for a 30th anniversary DualSense restock, the recent PlayStation release, which debuted in March 2025, is full of color and might even have been inspired by the Icon Blue edition that launched in late 2025.
The Hyperpop Collection is a clan of three PS5 pads: Techno Red, Remix Green, and Rhythm Blue. So while the names may make you think of Rock Band or Guitar Hero, the PlayStation team shared that these designs are all about explosions of color and are inspired by the impressive RGB lighting setups that many gamers use.
Basically, these pops of color extend from your setup, or even the screen of some of your favorite PS5 games, to your hands via the DualSense controller. However, neither Techno Red, Remix Green nor Rhythm Blue receive a full paint job. Rather, each presents itself more as a gradient, with the bottom half of the controller receiving a vibrant treatment while the top remains black.
Although the paint job doesn’t cover the entirety of the controller, these really stand out thanks to the glossy finish on all three. The result is a smooth-feeling controller, which may or may not be best for you, as it lacks some of the textures found on other DualSense controllers.
These have a certain amount of shine and show. I especially like Rhythm Blue. As the vibrant blue begins to fade to black, I also really liked the tapered effect PlayStation achieved here.
Remix Green, as you can see in the photos above, has some more yellow undertones, effectively making it a lime green. Remix Red is probably a close second in my books as it offers a really nice shade of red that any Spider-Man or Marvel fan would probably fit in quite well with.
However, if you’re looking for an eye-catching DualSense controller and your favorite color is green, red, or blue, you can’t go wrong with this set. And if you’re really looking for a complete look, PlayStation offers matching PS5 covers in the same shades.
The PlayStation DualSense controllers in Hyperpop Techno Red, Remix Green and Rhythm Blue are available for $84.99 / £74.99 / AU$134.99 at major retailers. I’ll include some links for them below, but it looks like all three will be sticking around for a while.
