Six terrorists killed in Panjgur IBO: ISPR

Recover weapons, ammunition, improvised explosive devices and vehicles from terrorists, says military media wing

Security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation (IBO) on June 3 and 4 in Balochistan’s Panjgur district, killing six Indian-sponsored terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan, the army’s media wing said on Friday.

An Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement said security forces carried out the IBO “on the reported presence of terrorists belonging to the Indian representative Fitna al-Hindustan”. He added that during the operation, security forces “effectively engaged multiple terrorist locations”, killing the six terrorists after intense exchanges of fire.

According to the ISPR, weapons, ammunition, improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and vehicles were also recovered from the terrorists, “who were still actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area.”

“Remediation operations are being carried out to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored terrorists found in the area,” the statement added.

The terrorist campaign, under the vision of Azm and Istehkam (as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies, “will continue at full pace to eliminate the threat of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” the statement concluded.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised security forces for carrying out a successful operation against Indian-backed Fitna-al-Hindustan terrorists in Panjgur, which resulted in the death of six militants.

In separate statements, both leaders said operations against terrorists under Operation Azm-e-Istehkam would continue to their logical conclusion.

President Zardari reaffirmed the nation’s resolve to eliminate terrorism and asserted that Fitna-al-Hindustan and its enablers would never succeed in undermining the peace and stability of Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised security forces for neutralizing terrorists who he said were plotting to harm the lives and properties of innocent and unarmed Pakistani citizens.

The Prime Minister also reiterated the government’s commitment to eradicate terrorism from the country and ensure lasting peace and security.

Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces for the successful operation in Panjgur.

He praised the forces for their bravery and professionalism after six Indian-sponsored terrorists were eliminated in a timely action that foiled their nefarious plans.

Naqvi paid tribute to the security forces and said that the operations against such elements in Balochistan were highly commendable. He added that the nation supports the security forces in the fight against terrorism.

Earlier, security forces killed 17 terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan during a series of IBO operations conducted in various districts of Balochistan following the May 24 train incident, the ISPR stated on Tuesday.

The operations were carried out in Mastung, Nushki, Zehri, Khuzdar and Ketch districts as part of an intensified counter-terrorism response.

The media wing had also revealed that a huge cache of weapons, ammunition, explosives and prepared IEDs were recovered from the slain terrorists.
