Prince William, patron of the Football Association of England, is known to be an avid fan of the sport. Meanwhile, the sporty Princess Kate also likes to attend these types of events.
With the Prince and Princess of Wales scheduled to make their first joint tour for the Earthshot Award later this year, there is speculation that the pair could be present at one of the most anticipated sporting events – the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to a royal source, the couple has no plans to attend the ceremony at the moment and it could change at the last minute.
“There’s been a lot of talk about this over the last few months, but so far no invitations have come out, so I now doubt it will happen,” royal reporter Emily Nash exclusively said. Page six this week.
He noted that although Catherine has returned to her usual royal duties, her health battle has refocused her travel priorities. Emily cited Prince William’s recent interview in which he stated that these trips “demand a lot from you.”
“I think he said, you’re sending and receiving all the time, which I thought was a really interesting way to put it. You’re in a situation where you have to give 110 percent of yourself the entire time you’re out there, and you’re being scrutinized all the time.”
So fans could expect to see William at some point, but Kate is unlikely to appear.
