It’s back! Amazon Australia has officially announced the dates for Prime Day, which will once again last 7 days, starting at 12am on Tuesday, July 7 and ending at 11:59pm on Monday, July 13.
This comes about a week earlier than we expected, as the sale event usually takes place in mid-July. But that’s okay, because it’s still more or less on schedule and starts on Tuesday, as usual.
The reason we think Amazon will host its Prime Day sale a little earlier this year is because the same event will be held June 23-26 in other countries (like the US, UK, and Singapore), but given that we just finished our own mid-year sale last week (June 1-7), it’s understandable that the retail giant wouldn’t want to quickly move on to its biggest shopping event.
Speaking of the mid-year sale, if you missed any of the event’s deals, we’re still covering the best EOFY deals live this month, but we’re hoping Prime Day will offer even better discounts on tech. We’ll be keeping an eye on prices for the best headphones, best tablets, best cameras, and more, and we’ll have all the deals listed in our Prime Day hub.
We’re also expecting to see discounts from brands like Apple, Samsung, Dyson and more, as well as Amazon’s own range of products such as Kindle e-readers, Echo smart speakers and Ring video doorbells.
As usual, we expect the best prices to be exclusive to Amazon Prime members, although discounts will also be widely available. If you’re interested but not yet a Prime member, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial. If you sign up for the event only, you’ll still be eligible for Prime Day deals even if you cancel your membership immediately afterward.
Otherwise, staying as a Prime member after the free trial will cost you AU$9.99 per month, or AU$79 for an annual membership. Other benefits you can get with a Prime membership are the Prime Video streaming service, Amazon Music, and Amazon Luna games.
Get ready for Prime Day
With the number of deals we expect to see in the thousands, browsing the Amazon Australia site could be overwhelming. The good news is that we’ll help you find the best tech deals in real time and include them all in our exclusive live Prime Day hub. You’ll want to check in often so you don’t miss out on some of the best discounts, as some of them launch in a flash and sell out very quickly.
Amazon Prime Day is one of the retailer’s biggest and best sales events in Australia in recent years, right up there with Black Friday, EOFY and the second Prime Day event we expect to see in October.
