Dar reviews security, logistics for OIC Women’s Conference in Pakistan

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Wednesday chaired the sixth meeting of the High Level Committee to review final preparations for the 9th Ministerial Conference on Women of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which Pakistan will host on July 12 and 13, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said in X.

According to the ministry, the meeting reviewed the final phase of preparations, including the draft programme, conference agenda, protocol, logistical and security arrangements, media and communication strategy, inter-ministerial coordination and other organizational matters.

The committee also discussed measures to ensure “the smooth conduct and successful holding of the Conference”, which will bring together representatives from all 57 OIC member states to strengthen cooperation on women’s empowerment, inclusion and sustainable development.

Dar appreciated the progress made by the HRD Ministry and directed all relevant stakeholders to maintain close coordination and ensure timely completion of the remaining arrangements, the ministry said.

The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Human Rights Azam Nazeer Tarar, Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch, Secretary Human Rights Abdul Khaliq Shaikh and other senior officials.
