Princess Anne performs key task after high-level royal meeting in Scotland

The Princess Royal has been working a busy schedule as the royal takes on a significant task at the Firm’s behest.

Senior members of the working royals, including King Charles and his wife, arrived on Tuesday to carry out a series of tasks during the week. It also included a “rare family dinner” at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, where senior members had gathered just before Prince Harry and Meghan’s visit to the UK.

The next day, Princess Anne took on an important engagement that coincides with Queen Camilla’s work while the royals are in Scotland.

The royal officially opened Victim Support Scotland’s new office in Edinburgh, where she met staff, volunteers and people affected by crime during the visit. The visit came after Anne attended the conference last year and will oversee the Glasgow office in 2023.

The charity is responsible for providing emotional, practical and trauma-informed support to individuals and families affected by crime across Scotland. Volunteers support victims and witnesses during the court process and also direct them to therapy and special services when necessary. They are of great help during the legal process that can often make victims feel isolated.

“We were honored to welcome Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal to officially open our Edinburgh office,” said the charity’s acting chief executive, Debbie Adams.

“We are incredibly proud of this welcoming, trauma-informed space and have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from people who have used our new remote testing rooms,” he continued.

“The Princess Royal is a great supporter of Victim Support Scotland and we greatly value the interest she shows in our work and the time she spends speaking to people who have been affected by crime.”
