Huzzah, another weekend is approaching, and amid the lack of new movies hitting theaters today (July 24), you might prefer to stay home and watch one of the following seven must-see movies and TV shows.
There are a couple of new releases that we couldn’t include in this week’s streaming roundup; I’m sorry, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 4 and the dink. However, I’m sure you’ll find something to your liking among those we’ve listed below. What if I said that? The Big Bang Theory split Stuart fails to save the universe Was it better than the original series? No one expected the awkward story of comic book store owner Stuart to continue on the main show, but in retrospect, it’s a glorious move.

Aang has grown up in Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender, but that doesn’t mean the original magic has disappeared. The film’s grasp of perspective, movement and detail is absolutely astonishing, and it moves through the Four Nations with such awe that you’ll want to live in every frame.
Time may have changed their looks, but their goofy, fun-loving personalities definitely haven’t… and the animation captures exactly what’s missing from Netflix’s live-action adaptation. — J.V.

In this new Netflix movie, Kevin Hart plays a 40-year-old man who ends up on a three-day bachelor party with strangers, resulting in another silly Hart-directed adventure that’s perfect if you need a laugh this weekend.
How did it end up there, you ask? Well, he was mistakenly added to a group chat and tagged along, traveling from New York to Miami to join the celebrations. I guess any excuse to party on the beach.
It’s not so idyllic, however, as the trailer shows run-ins with the law and other mishaps, including a horrific jellyfish sting. More like him than me. — Lucy Buglass, Senior Entertainment Writer

As far as weekend watches go, it really doesn’t get much better than a violent thrill ride like this one. If you are a fan of the boysKarl Urban’s portrayal of Johnny Cage has been widely praised, with some noting that it is worth watching for him alone. — pound
Pompeii: Out of Time with Tom Hiddleston (Hulu/Disney+)

A three-part series from National Geographic, Pompeii: out of time follows Hiddleston as he retraces the steps of a trio of people caught in the natural disaster. Armed with new archaeological evidence and backed by a team of experts, Hiddleston explores how these people not only endured one of the ancient world’s worst humanitarian crises, but could also have survived the deadly events of 79 AD.

I don’t need all my television to be profound, life-changing, or even that meaningful. Sometimes I just want to turn off my brain and pretend I live in a quaint rural town like Rescue cannon On the other side of the world where everyone has relentless drama except me.
In Season 2, the land dispute between the Double K and Fuller ranches has grown fiercer, local bar owner Quinn has left for New York despite her on-again, off-again relationship with rancher Staten, and mysterious newcomer Yancy has revealed to his new love interest, Ellie, that he has a secret wife.
Season 1 was already a great outing, but now that the show is known a little more, Season 2 is easily on par with the strongest seasons of virgin riverthe streamer’s most iconic “cozy drama” IP. — J.V.
Masters of the Universe (Prime Video)

One of the many mid-2026 movie releases that have flopped at the box office, Amazon has raised the proverbial white flag on its live action. Masters of the universe theatrical tour of the film. In short: that means you can now watch it on Prime Video.
Based on the Mattel-owned media franchise of the same name, the action-fantasy film tells the story of Adam, the crown prince of Eternia and owner of a mystical weapon called the Power Sword that, when wielded, turns him into the superhuman known as He-Man. Together with his allies, the previously exiled Adam must realize his potential and overthrow the infamous Skeletor, who took control of Adam’s hometown of Eternals and his throne 15 years earlier.
