Islamabad: Jhelum’s police have successfully recovered a couple of Airpods belonging to the influential of British social networks Miles Routledge, better known as “Lord Miles”, a year after they were lost in Dubai.

Routledge, who had inadvertently left his Airpods in a hotel in Dubai, had activated the “lost” mode function on his iPhone, which allowed him to continuously monitor and track his location.

To his surprise, the signal revealed that the devices had been flown from Dubai to Kala Gujran, a union council on the outskirts of the city of Jhelum in Pakistan.

The airpods occasionally fired from the neighborhood of a local restaurant, providing a crucial track for its whereabouts.

Without direct contacts in Pakistan, Miles turned to their extensive social networks in a row, publishing updates on the location of the Airpods and directly labeling the Jhelum police in their positions.

Digital bread crumbs finally led to a real world investigation.

The location of the individual who uses the airpods proved to be a challenging task. However, the district police officer (DPO) Jhelum, Tariq Aziz Sindhu took over, ordering his team to reduce homes in the area with Dubai connections.

His diligent efforts were worth it, identifying four men in the vicinity who worked in Dubai.

An additional investigation revealed that one of these men was currently in Pakistan, visiting his family. Police summoned him to interrogate him about the Airpods.

The individual admitted having possessed the devices, but said he had bought them from an Indian citizen in Dubai, without realizing that he was a stolen asset.

Satisfied with their explanation, the police successfully recovered the AirPods.

Then thousands were contacted to ask if I would choose to receive them in person traveling to Pakistan or share a postal address for shipping.

He chose to visit and film the recovery, an intention he also expressed in his social networks.

“I will get a police officer and assault the area, recover my airpods and film everything. You don’t like thieves,” he tweeted, assuming that the police had tracked the suspect and organized a dramatic raid.

Upon arrival, he learned that the Airpods were already in custody, and instead he was invited to lunch in a restaurant.

In a televised statement, Miles praised the Jhelum police, recognizing their efforts. He commented that the force had done what “Scotland in London would not do for a British citizen like me.”

He also clarified that the original thief was Indian, not Pakistani.

Since then, thousands has launched a campaign against the Indians who call them thieves. In a publication, he said that the Indian who stole his Airpods was arrested in Dubai for charges of robbery.
