It seems that the launch of the iPhone Air and the iPhone 17 Pro have not gone as well as Apple would expect: the cameras in these phones are failing in a strange way in certain scenarios, although a solution is on its way.
The problem was indicated by Henry Casey in CNN (through Macrumors), who noticed dark sections and white pinch in some photos taken during a concert. Apparently, this affected about 1 in 10 of the snapshots taken by Casey.
According to an Apple spokesman, this “can happen in very rare cases when a LED light screen is extremely bright and shines directly into the camera.” Apple says he identified a solution for the problem, which will appear in an “upcoming software update.”
It is not clear if this problem is affecting the iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which was launched at the same time, although it is not something that the PakGazette team has noticed when reviewing any of the new iPhones. A solution of the first day?
These iPhones do not go on sale or are sent to customers until tomorrow, September 19, so there may be an update of camera problems available to download as soon as these devices have without box.
Apple has not said what is causing the rare failure, although there are some speculations in the Macrumors forums that these oddities could be caused through the way in which iPhones are taking multiple exhibitions and combining them in one.
That is now a standard practice on smartphones, of course, and means that the best parts of each shot can be combined to produce a unique, natural and unique photo. It seems that here, part of that instant image processing has become bad.
