Assassin’s Creed Black Flag resynchronized Creative director Paul Fu has revealed that the remake of the 2013 game is built from scratch and features very little of the original code.
In an interview with TechRadar Gaming in a Assassin’s Creed Black Flag resynchronized At the preview event in Paris, Fu talked about how the team evolved the game’s original content, including adding new music in addition to modernized mechanics and additional story content for supporting characters.
Ubisoft has said that the game is built from scratch, but when asked how much, Fu shared that, while he can’t say with 100% certainty, “there’s probably almost nothing left” of the game’s original code in the upcoming remake.
The developer explained that Ubisoft’s core Anvil Engine is continually changing, and has even changed after last year’s release. Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
“Many things are done with the new Anvil [engine]”said Fu. “And since Originsthe engine has changed drastically and since then Darkness, has changed dramatically again. “So it’s very hard for me to say for sure, but almost everything had to be rebuilt.”
When asked to clarify what he meant by “rebuilt”, Fu said that things had to be created from “nothing to something” and “expanded”, which included the combat system.
“I mean, sure, there are some things we have, like locomotion and parkour, stealth as a base, but for the fighting system, for example, we had to take it apart and rebuild it the way we wanted,” Fu said.
