CM Bugti says govt committed to strengthening law and order and improving governance

The Balochistan cabinet on Wednesday approved a series of important decisions aimed at improving security, education, governance and public service delivery, including declaring the entire province as a “police area” after the integration of the Levies Force into the police system.
The decisions were taken during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, where various issues related to law and order, development projects, administrative reforms and public welfare were discussed.
The cabinet approved Phase III of the Chief Minister’s Scholarship Programme, under which 300 children of registered workers from Balochistan will be enrolled in a quality boarding school in Islamabad. The initiative is designed to provide better educational opportunities for workers’ children and help them build a better future.
To improve the security structure of the province, the cabinet approved the appointment of Superintendent of Police Nabeel Ahmed as Chief Operating Officer of Balochistan Safe City Authority. He also approved the formation of the Provincial Parole Board on the recommendation of the Department of the Interior and sanctioned the establishment of a new police station in Hub Marble City to improve security in the industrial and commercial area.
The cabinet also approved the Service Level Agreement for the Quetta Safe City Project, paving the way for the expansion of modern surveillance systems and technology-based policing in the provincial capital.
In the local government sector, the cabinet elevated the Mesi Zai Trade Union Council and the Mai Zai Trade Union Council to municipal committees, while approving the establishment of a new Municipal Committee in Gulistan to improve administrative services and strengthen local governance.
For better planning and implementation of development projects, the cabinet approved the Balochistan Planning Manual. The meeting also approved the Balochistan Child Protection Rules 2026 to further strengthen measures for the protection and welfare of children across the province.
The cabinet approved amendments to the Balochistan Cadet Colleges Act, 2026, extended the contract period of the attorney general by another two years and approved the Balochistan Weighted Hybrid Procurement Policy, 2026 to improve transparency and efficiency in public procurement.

Other key approvals included the funding proposal for Harnai-Sibi Highway Project, Gwadar Development Authority Service Rules 2024 and creation of a new tehsil and sub-division in Nasirabad district to improve administrative management and public service delivery.
The meeting began with prayers for security personnel and civilians who lost their lives in recent incidents. Cabinet members paid tribute to their sacrifices and expressed solidarity with the grieving families.
Addressing the gathering, Bugti said the government was committed to strengthening law and order, improving governance, expanding educational opportunities and accelerating development across Balochistan.
He said all cabinet decisions will be implemented effectively and within the stipulated timelines to ensure better services and significant benefits to the people of the province.
