Bitcoin Falls to $63,900 as Markets Weigh Oil, Persistent AI Selloff

Bitcoin fell to around $63,900 on Monday, down 1.3% on the day, though still up 2% on the week, as cryptocurrencies were caught between a war that sent oil up and the impact of Chinese AI that hit chip stocks on Friday.

The board is red all day long. Ether fell 1.1% to $1,850, BNB fell 0.8% to $564, XRP fell to $1.09, and dogecoin lost 1.4%. Hyperliquid’s HYPE remained the weakest of the majors, down 8% on the week to $60.

Brent crude rose to a one-month high above $91 a barrel as attacks between the United States and Iran widened, reviving inflation concerns that this month’s weak U.S. price data had eased. Meanwhile, Asian chip stocks remained under pressure from Friday’s sell-off, with South Korea’s Kospi falling 3.5%, although US futures pointed higher.
