Superloop, one of our favorite Internet Service Providers (ISPs) here at TechRadar, and winner of our Best High-Speed NBN Provider award, recently made a pair of announcements that could have a major impact on how much you pay for Internet over the next 24 months.
Firstly, the telco has announced that it will increase prices on the majority of its range of NBN plans from 1 July, in direct response to the wholesale price increases introduced by NBN Co. We already knew that wholesale price increases were coming, so it is not a enormous It is surprising to know that Superloop is passing the cost on to consumers. We expect most other NBN providers to follow suit.
The small saving grace is that Superloop is not increasing the cost of its NBN 100, NBN 500 or NBN 750 plans, at least not for the next financial year. What he chooses to do for FY27 is anyone’s guess at this point.
That means the price increases only apply to NBN 25, NBN 50, NBN 250, NBN 1000 and NBN 2000 plans. Prices will rise from just AU$3 per month to AU$6 per month. The biggest increase will apply to the NBN 25 plan, which will cost you AU$78 per month after any introductory costs. For context, the NBN 50 plan (with double the speed) will sell for AU$89 per month, while the faster NBN 100 and NBN 500 plans will cost AU$95 (unchanged).
It’s clear, then, that upgrading to a faster plan will make more economic sense than ever, with a AU$17 gap between a 25Mbps plan and one that offers download speeds of up to 500Mbps (if you have the right connection type to support them).

How to avoid price increases
While the planned price increases don’t come as a huge surprise, they will no doubt be difficult to swallow for many customers, both those already signed up with Superloop and potential customers who were thinking about switching to the well-rated telco.
Fortunately, Superloop offers a way to avoid them, at least for the next 24 months, with a feature called PriceLock.
PriceLock does exactly what it suggests; allows you to lock in a monthly rate for two years, for a one-time fee of AU$25. If you signed up for Superloop today and activated PriceLock, you would effectively avoid the July increases.
However, how much you can actually save with PriceLock depends primarily on which NBN plan you have. Considering that NBN 100, NBN 500 and NBN 750 plans will not receive a price increase from July 1, it means there is no point in activating PriceLock.
That said, Superloop could increase in cost in 2027, in which case the current price would be fixed. wanted to It will be worth it. For a one-time fee of AU$25, it would still be worth activating the feature in our opinion. At the very least, it would give you peace of mind knowing how much your monthly NBN bill will be for the next two years.

A privileged moment to sign
By removing PriceLock from the equation, now is still a good time to consider switching to Superloop. The telco is offering some EOFY deals on its NBN plans, giving you the chance to buy one Eero 7 modem and receive a second one absolutely free – ideal for building a mesh Wi-Fi system for greater network coverage at home.
Additionally, all Superloop NBN plans have a six-month introductory price, which would also help you avoid expected price hikes for a short period of time. When the introductory offer ends, you’ll pay the new price, assuming you choose one of the plans that will go up.
