King Charles and Queen Camilla began their trip to the United States amid growing fears over their safety following the Trump shooting incident.
The royal couple arrived in Washington, DC, on April 27 to begin a four-day State Visit to the US, on the advice of the Government of the United Kingdom, and at the invitation of the President of the United States, Donald Trump.
Buckingham Palace issued an update on the King and Queen’s first engagement in the United States, but that left fans “disappointed.”
The King and Queen were shown the beehives on the grounds of the White House alongside the President and First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump.
According to the release, “The White House hives were first established in 2009, serving as a lasting feature of the grounds across multiple administrations and producing honey for the White House.
“In 2026, First Lady Melania Trump enhanced the existing White House honey program to include a hand-crafted hive, shaped like the White House. During the summer, the hive hosts approximately 70,000 bees.”
However, fans in the comments section were not impressed with the first outing.
One social media user wrote: “Poor King Charles, Queen Camilla has to appear elegant, professional and diplomatic in front of those two…”
“I pray that Their Majesties are safe during this four-day journey. God save the King,” wrote another.
One fan probed and said, “Looks like that’s the first time Trump has seen them too.”
