Cara Delevingne addressed long-standing rumors that she had an affair with Amber Heard while Heard was still married to Johnny Depp, and made it clear that the timeline wasn’t exactly what Depp believed.
Talking about the Luis Theroux Podcast In an episode released on June 29, Delevingne explained that Depp’s accusations were more about jealousy than fact.
“I think jealousy had driven him quite crazy,” he told Theroux, insisting that “nothing was happening at the time.”
She traced the origin of her suspicions to 2013, when she and Heard worked together on the film. London Fieldsin which Depp made a brief cameo.
Depp and Heard dated in 2011 and married in 2014, before separating after fifteen months and finalizing their divorce the following year.
It was only after that split, Delevingne confirmed, that a relationship really developed between her and Heard.
“Later, after they got divorced, it happened, I guess,” he said. “Heard and I were close for a long time, and then when they were going through the divorce, we got involved.”
Delevingne was also candid that Heard was not exclusively involved with her during that period, pointing out Heard’s on-again, off-again relationship with Elon Musk between 2016 and 2018.
“She was also involved with other people,” Delevingne noted.
