CDF Munir celebrates Eid with troops in Zhob, says inhuman and brutal acts cannot weaken nation’s resolve


Reiterates that the armed forces will continue to pursue with all their force all facilitators and instigators of terrorism

Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir on Wednesday visited Balochistan’s Zhob district to spend Eidul Azha with troops deployed along the western borders, saying inhuman and brutal acts cannot weaken the nation’s resolve.

According to the army’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the visit began with Eid prayers, where special prayers were offered for the peace, stability and prosperity of Pakistan, as well as for the martyrs who laid down their lives in the defense of the country.

“Field Marshal Munir extended Eid greetings to the officers and soldiers and praised their exceptional bravery, unwavering determination, operational preparedness and steadfast vigilance amidst foreign-sponsored terrorism,” he said.

The Field Marshal paid tribute to the troops for their bravery and sacrifices in safeguarding the country, saying they had demonstrated “unparalleled courage and sacrifices in safeguarding the nation against the menace of terrorism and hostile threats sponsored by enemy forces.”

Referring to the recent terrorist incident in Quetta, orchestrated by Indian sponsored groups Fitna al-Hindustan and its representatives, stated: “Such inhuman and brutal acts cannot weaken the resolve of the Pakistan Armed Forces or the nation. The morale and determination of the troops and people of Pakistan remain unwavering.”

He further reiterated that “the armed forces, in close coordination with law enforcement agencies and the people of Balochistan, will continue to pursue all enablers, accomplices and perpetrators of terrorism with full force.”

Upon arrival, the Field Marshal was received by the Quetta Corps Commander and also laid a wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhadapaying tribute to the nation’s martyrs.

A powerful explosion ripped through a passenger train near Chaman Phatak in the early hours of Sunday morning while it was traveling from Quetta Cantonment railway station towards the city railway station. At least 14 people were killed, including three members of the Frontier Corps (FC), and 20 others were injured in one of the deadliest attacks in the provincial capital in recent months.
