Chris ‘The Bear’ Fallica’s Matchday 3 World Cup Best Bets, Picks and Predictions

NEWNow you can listen to Pak Gazette articles!

“Bear bets” are real bets that Chris “The Bear” Fallica is actually making.

In the first two days of the World Cup, two games were played each. But now the football bonanza begins.

Four games will be played on Saturday, led by Brazil vs. Morocco.

This is how I bet on matchday 3 of the tournament.

Best bets for the World Cup: Saturday, June 13

Qatar vs Switzerland

Support Breel Embolo to find the back of the Swiss net in their match against Qatar (Getty Images).

Qatar appears to be qualified for last place in the group, and while this seems to be the most lethal play, with money almost even, I will back the best Swiss scorer. He scored two goals in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and four in qualifying for the 2026 World Cup. I think he will find the back of the net here.

Brazil vs Morocco

The group will be heavily weighted towards one winner, as these two are separated by just one place in the FIFA rankings. I don’t think Brazil is a great team. The midfield is old and, despite a central defensive core of Gabriel and Marquinhos, plus Alisson in net, Brazil have conceded goals in five consecutive friendlies, all against World Cup teams. While Abde Ezzalzouli is out with a knee injury, Brahim Diaz and Ayoub El Kaabi are more than capable of making Brazil pay. Of course, with Raphinha and Vini Jr., Brazil also has plenty of scoring ability. The reward for winning is huge, so I hope both teams try.

Haiti against Scotland

If Haiti wants to get a result, this is their best chance: early in the tournament and against someone other than Brazil or Morocco. We know what we’ll get from Haiti: defend and wait for a counterattack. That should result in Scotland having the majority of the ball and Haiti’s legitimate chances being few and far between. The Scottish defense should not be under too much pressure and be forced to concede corners.

Australia vs. Türkiye

Look for Kenan Yildiz to be aggressive towards the net against Australia (Getty Images).

Australia can be difficult to beat, so the best strategy might not be to try to get through them, but rather to shoot as many balls towards the goal as possible. That means Juventus top scorer Kenan Yildiz should play a big role in doing just that. I thought I’d look at the Australia team’s under total, since top scorer Kusini Yengi is out, and even a total of over 3.5 cards (remember Türkiye during Euro 2024). But I’ll go with Yildiz’s shots as my best play here.
