Chuwi has unveiled its new CoreBook Air 226V Copilot+ laptop built around the Intel Core Ultra 5 226V processor based on the Lunar Lake architecture. It brings local AI capability to a lightweight system aimed at content creators, business professionals, students, and programmers.
The Core Ultra 5 226V is an 8-core, 8-thread chip with boost speeds reaching up to 4.5 GHz, combined with integrated Arc 130V graphics and dedicated AI hardware.
It delivers up to 28 percent higher multi-core performance than the Intel Core i5-1235U and Core i5-12450H processors, along with efficiency improvements of up to 25 percent.

Slim and light chassis
The AI ​​performance is rated up to 97 TOPS, including 40 TOPS from the NPU and about 8 TOPS from the CPU.
The CoreBook Air 226V features a full-size, two-level backlit keyboard, combined with a large touchpad, all housed in a durable sandblasted and anodized aluminum alloy chassis that measures approximately 10.9mm thick and weighs less than 1kg. Dual fans rated at less than 38 dB help keep fan noise low during operation.
The 14-inch 16:10 display offers a 2.8K (2880 x 1800) resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate. It supports 100 percent sRGB color coverage, along with wide viewing angles suitable for daily work, media playback and general productivity tasks.
The laptop comes with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM that runs at 8533 MT/s, along with a 512GB PCIe SSD that can be easily upgraded if you need additional storage.
There is a 2MP Full HD RGB webcam placed above the screen for video calls and conferencing, and it comes with a privacy shutter.
It supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, and has HDMI, RJ45 Ethernet, two USB-C ports, two USB-A ports, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Battery life ranges from 12 to 15 hours, backed by 65W fast charging that can restore about 50 percent of the battery’s capacity in about an hour.
The CoreBook Air 226V is priced at $800, which is where Chuwi could run into problems.
The company is known for its lower-priced products, and this model ventures into territory it doesn’t normally occupy. Chuwi’s CoreBook Air 14 with similar specs but a Ryzen 5 6600H processor is much more affordable at $589.
Buyers also have plenty of ultralight laptops to choose from from better-known manufacturers with established product lines, greater retail availability, and a longer track record in the thin and light category.
