“We are bringing that experience to the new online agent economy,” Coelho-Prabhu said in an interview. “Agents, on one side of the transaction, will read the Coinbase developer documents, create a wallet for themselves, and be ready to purchase. We then empower businesses so that everything in their inventory is now available on the internet through this agent-friendly payment flow.”
For exchange users, they can gain easier control of the crypto markets with a live order list that streams a broker’s open and active orders in real-time, displaying status, price and size so the user can monitor every move, Coinbase said in a press release.
This will put agent trading at the user’s fingertips, with the agent getting real-time market data and the ability to act on conditions autonomously. “Tell it whatever you want in plain language – ‘buy ETH if it drops 5%,’ ‘sell when my order fills’ – and it will watch the market and execute for you. The same WebSocket data that powers institutional desktops is now accessible through natural language,” Coinbase said.
Additionally, for developers there is a new Coinbase Developer Platform x402 SDK, builders can now add x402 payment acceptance to any API, MCP server or web service in 3 lines of code.
