Dutton Ranch Season 2: Key Information
– Was renewed before the end of season 1.
– Lead stars and executive producers Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser appear set to return
– A new showrunner has not yet been announced.
– There is no confirmed release date, plot or supporting cast.
In the least surprising news known to man, Dutton Ranch was renewed for a second season before season 1 had time to air its penultimate episode (let alone that explosive finale).
According to Paramount+, season 1 racked up 12.9 million viewers worldwide in its first seven days after the yellow stone premiere of the spin-off, making it the biggest launch of an original series in the streamer’s history.
But after discovering so many aspects of Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Rip’s (Cole Hauser) new life in Rio Paloma, the numbers make a lot of sense.
but with Dutton Ranch Season 2 now official, what do we know about its development so far?
Dutton Ranch Season 2 Release Window Predictions
Currently, there is no confirmed information on when Dutton Ranch Season 2 will air. However, it wouldn’t be surprising if it adopted the production of other Taylor Sheridan-produced shows like landmanwhich gives us a rough guess.
The best-case scenario is that season 2 films in late 2026, bringing the episodes to the small screen in the first half of 2027. However, we could easily be left waiting until the second half of the year as well.
Dutton Ranch Season 2 Trailer – Is There One?
Don’t be stupid. It took us until early May 2026 to get one for Season 1, so expect the first full trailer to arrive about two weeks before the second season arrives.

Dutton Ranch Season 2 Plot Predictions
Spoilers for season 1 below.
While specific plot points haven’t been confirmed (and probably won’t be for a while), it makes sense for Dutton Ranch season 2 to pick up exactly where the season 1 finale left off.
Obviously, there are quite a few questions that need answering here. Most pressing is whether Carter will survive his kidnapping and whether Beth and Rip can get to him before something bad happens.
Then we will have the consequences of Rob-Will’s death, which will definitely have altered Joaquín’s mind. This will also affect Mariano’s position in the 10 Petals business, possibly seeing even more power than he had before.
Beulah, meanwhile, has absolutely nothing to her name. She needs to mourn Rob-Will, but Everett wants nothing to do with her, so her next moves can’t be guessed right away.
Then there is Oreana. Will she stay with the baby? Will Beth be there to support her? And will Río Paloma be the same again one day?
However, because there will be a change in showrunner (more on that below), a major change in tone and/or narrative direction cannot be ruled out. We’ll know more about this once a replacement has been announced.
Who will take over as Dutton Ranch showrunner?
As you may have heard, Season 1 showrunner Chad Feehan left the series a few weeks before its launch, following alleged on-set tension with Reilly, Hauser, and executive producer Taylor Sheridan.
Industry rumors have suggested that another writer would take over as lead showrunner, but this has so far not been confirmed.
Sheridan has not directly directed a yellow stone spin-off from 1883 and 1923but you can read more about why it would be my ideal choice (because I won’t stop talking about it).
