- The purifier has smart sensors to track where you are in the room
- No privacy concerns — everything is processed on the device
- It is priced at $850 / £550 (around AU$1,190)
Dyson has launched what could be its smartest air purifier yet, the Dyson Find+Follow Purifier Cool. As the name suggests, it’s a purifier that knows where you are and follows your movements, directing air to where you are and optionally turning off when you leave the room.
It doesn’t only work for solo users. It can detect multiple people in the same room and automatically adjusts its oscillation to share cooling “efficiently and evenly.” By directing air towards people instead of just the room, the Dyson Find+Follow Purifier Cool should be more energy efficient than less smart devices.
Dyson Find+Follow Purifier Cool: key details and prices
It’s worth noting that, like similar Dysons, this is a fan rather than an air conditioner, so it doesn’t cool the air; He just moves it very well. If you’re looking for a portable air conditioner, we’ve rounded up the best options in stock here.
In addition to person detection, the Dyson Find+Follow Purifier Cool has typically high specifications. Its K-Carbon + HEPA filtration captures 99.97% of ultrafine particles down to 0.3 microns and promises to capture 50% more NO₂ than rival purifiers. It is completely sealed to the HEPA H13 standard and has automatic detection of PM2.5, PM10, VOCs, NO₂ and formaldehyde.
As always with Dyson, the device is very impressive but the price is quite high, especially in the US, although it is a little more affordable than initially announced. The press release listed the price as $894.99, but it’s currently available on Dyson.com for a slightly less scary price of $849.99 / £549.99. That’s equivalent to around AU$1,190, but it’s not currently listed on Dyson’s Australian website.
