EastEnders Star Natalie Cassidy was left devastated after her nine-year-old daughter was rushed to hospital following a serious injury.
Cassidy, known for her role as Sonia Fowler in the long-running BBC soap opera. EastEndersrecently detailed the incident in her Life with Nat podcast. The 43-year-old British actress revealed that her daughter Joanie, whom she shares with fiancé Marc Humphreys, recently broke her arm after slipping in the hallway before a physical education class at school.
Cassidy said she had a “nervous breakdown” when her daughter had surgery just weeks after having surgery on the same arm. She said: “Same arm, torn to pieces. General anesthesia, same operation.”
“I’m speechless. It’s very traumatic,” Cassidy added while describing her situation after finding out about Joanie’s arm.
She continued: “He wasn’t in a good place. Just his little body, and the medication and the trauma of it all.”
She shared that all of her daughter’s blood tests were “absolutely perfect,” however, she was tested for “some type of deficiency” that could make her more susceptible to bone injuries.
The update comes months after Cassidy made headlines for supporting proposed restrictions on social media use among children under 16, after becoming “horrified” by what the algorithm shows children.
