At least five people were injured in a hand grenade attack in Dalbandin, an area of ​​Chagai district in Balochistan, on Monday night, police said.

According to police officers, unknown assailants threw a hand grenade at a house in Dalbandin. The grenade fell into the yard of the house and exploded with a loud bang.

As a result of the explosion, five people, identified as Muzammil, Mushtaq, Ismail, Khan Muhammad and Ejaz Ahmed, were injured and were immediately taken to Dalbandin Hospital for medical treatment.

Doctors said the injured suffered minor injuries in the explosion. Among the victims, two are from Multan, two from Sialkot and one from Narowal. They all worked for a construction company in Dalbandin.

Earlier on Monday, a police constable was martyred after terrorists launched a brazen attack on a check post in Killi Harmezai area of ​​Balochistan’s Pishin district.

According to police officers, unknown assailants opened indiscriminate fire at the checkpoint located in the Harmezai region. The sudden attack left Constable Nematullah seriously injured. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment, but succumbed to his injuries.

The attackers managed to flee the scene shortly after the shooting. In response, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a large-scale search operation to arrest the culprits.
