Five militants killed in attack on military camp in North Waziristan


An explosion was heard in Miranshah as terrorists used suicide tactics in Friday’s assault; seven security personnel were injured.

A major attack took place in Boya camp in Datta Khel area of ​​North Waziristan on Friday when armed militants attacked a security forces camp. According to official sources, the attackers began the assault by shooting at the post and trying to break through the perimeter. In the subsequent intense exchange of fire between militants and security personnel, all five militants (four ground assailants and one car bomb) were killed, while seven security personnel were injured in the clash.

Initial reports say the attackers used a vehicle laden with explosives and suicide vests to break into and assault the camp, and a powerful explosion was reported near the site that damaged shops and buildings and injured residents. The explosion was reportedly loud enough to be heard from the town of Miranshah, about 25 kilometers away, and thick smoke was seen rising from the site shortly after impact.

The conflict reportedly lasted three hours until the attackers were killed, however the Boya army camp has not yet been vacated.

Police, along with security forces and bomb disposal units, quickly cordoned off the area and launched a clearing and search operation to secure the surrounding area. 1122 rescue teams and doctors were dispatched to assist the injured, who are receiving treatment at local medical facilities.

Authorities say that following the attack, security across the district was placed on high alert and precautionary measures were taken, including temporarily suspending traffic on a key highway.

The Aswad-ul-Harab suicide squad, Huzaifa, affiliated with the Hafiz Gul Bahadar group of the Ittihadul Mujahideen Pakistan conglomerate, claimed responsibility for the attack.

Attack on Tank Saddar Police Station

Last night, militants attempted a drone assault on the Mureed Akbar Shaheed police station. The attackers attacked the daily registration room of the police station with a quadcopter, seriously injuring the police station employee and his assistant. Both injured police officers were rushed to the Tank Civil Hospital, where they are currently receiving medical attention.

Local police and security forces reported hearing intense gunshots immediately after the explosion. Security teams cordoned off the area and launched a large-scale search operation as part of the ongoing investigations into the incident.
