Professional wrestling fans know Kayla Becker as a regular during WWE programming, doing backstage interviews, hosting pre-shows, and even trying her hand as an in-ring announcer.

Becker is being introduced to a host of new sports fans thanks to her partnership with BZZR, a social media platform dedicated to fans.

She told Pak Gazette Digital that she was excited to return to her roots in broadcasting and expand her coverage outside of sports entertainment.

“I’m very excited to be a part of BZZR. I obviously have a background in sports entertainment when it comes to wrestling. For eight years of my life, I only talked about wrestling, but I only had a passion for sports,” she said. “I was actually a sports broadcasting student in college. I had a dream of one day growing up and playing in the WNBA, but I didn’t get to be 5 feet tall, so that never happened… I’m very lucky that BZZR approached me.

“Chris Dunn, who’s actually the head of content there, worked with me as a head writer at WWE. So when he got involved with BZZR, it was like he met a girl who can talk on camera for an extended period of time about anything we tell her. So, that’s essentially where we are now and I’m having a great time.”

BZZR is intended to be a platform to eliminate the noise of the rest of the world that appears in the algorithms of many of the other social media companies.

Becker also told Pak Gazette Digital that BZZR users will be able to talk about sports without fear of bots or trolls causing problems.

“I think the fact that it’s a social media platform exclusively about sports. I think that in itself is really unique,” he said. “Plus, all the creators there are verified creators with their own followers, so when you go in and sign up, you’re not dealing with bots or trolls. They’re real people who know what they’re talking about and want to share their passion for sports with the community. I’ve been able to bring in some fans from my wrestling world to see what I’m saying on BZZR. They want to be there.

“So on other social media platforms, we all experience that there are some people who maybe shouldn’t be on social media. The good thing about BZZR is that it’s a really safe base for sports fans.”
