French tennis player Arthur Gea abruptly left the court during his first-round match at the French Open on Sunday after begging the chair umpire to allow him to go to the emergency bathroom.
The Frenchman, who secured his place at Roland Garros with a wild card entry, was trailing Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov 4-2 in the first set when Gea made a desperate plea to the chair umpire to use the bathroom.

“I need to go to the bathroom. I can’t move anymore. I’m going to shit on the damn court,” Gea said.

Bathroom breaks are usually reserved only between sets. A pair of officials quickly appeared on the Suzanne-Lenglen court and asked about the “medical reason” for the timeout.
“Yes, I’m sick,” Gea responded, before clarifying that he was suffering from an attack of “diarrhea.”
A coach seemed to add that Gea was suffering from “stomach problems.”

His pleas were not enough and the game continued.
As soon as the next point was played, Gea made a quick exit to the locker room. He said after the match that the referee allowed him to rest for “medical circumstances” and that he was given some medication to calm his stomach pain.
He explained that he didn’t feel bad the night before but started to feel bad in the morning.
