From A to Z: the 2026 World Cup scorers complete the alphabet

NEWNow you can listen to Pak Gazette articles!

From Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé’s stunners to Harry Kane’s penalty, the 2026 World Cup has already seen over 100 goals – and there’s plenty more to come.

But thanks to Egypt’s two goals on Sunday against New Zealand in the group stage, World Cup goals have reached an impressive milestone: one goalscorer for every letter of the alphabet.

Organized by surname, no World Cup has ever achieved this feat. The closest was the 2018 World Cup, which had a scorer for every letter except Y.

Well, thanks to the goals scored by Egyptians Trezeguet and Mostafa Zico, the 26-letter list is now complete. Here’s a look at the first alphabet of scorers for the 2026 World Cup.
