Following the backlash it received for quietly raising YouTube Premium prices in the US, Google has unveiled a new deal that gives you a 50% discount on one year of YouTube Premium when you sign up for a Google One Premium or Google AI plan, as long as you meet certain criteria.
Google Photos and Google One VP Shimrit Ben-Yair shared the bundle on her X account (see below), while the Google Gemini account on X also announced the “special surprise for our Gemini power users.”

Google has recently made quite a few changes to its Google One Premium plans. Just a few weeks ago it doubled the storage allocation for its AI Pro tier, which also offers the YouTube Premium add-on for a limited time, without increasing the price.
But before you rush to sign up, there are a few things you should keep in mind.
As mentioned in post X, the YouTube Premium offer is only available to Google One Premium subscribers who pay for 2TB of storage or more. The Google AI Pro plan is also included as it offers 5TB of storage. This means that those on Basic, Standard, and Google AI Plus will not be eligible.
There are also some regional restrictions to take into account. You can only claim the discount if you’re based in the US, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany or Japan, so UK subscribers will unfortunately miss out.
If you are already a YouTube Premium subscriber, you will need to cancel your subscription and sign up for Google AI Pro in order to claim the discount. You can do this by following the steps described in the Google One help page.
