Harper Beckham has reportedly suffered a major setback in her upcoming beauty business.
The teenager is believed to be inspired by South Korean cosmetics and is preparing to launch her first beauty range, aimed at Generation Z and Generation Alpha consumers.
In October, it was revealed that the Beckhams had registered the name HIKU BY Harper in the UK, setting in motion the steps for the upcoming beauty line.
However, the Beckham brand has suffered a setback after the US Patent and Trademark Office issued an “initial rejection” of the name, saying it could be confused with existing companies.
According the sun has reported that the denial occurred because ‘Harper’ is registered for brooms and scrub brushes, while ‘Hiku’ is a registered trademark for toiletries and fragrances.
During an appearance at Aspire with Emma Grede On the podcast, Victoria Beckham spoke for the first time about her daughter’s budding business.
Victoria revealed that Harper, 14, had struggled with a “really bad” battle with acne, which motivated her to launch her own beauty brand.
Victoria said the ambitious teen even approached her with PowerPoint presentations in the early stages of getting her beauty line off the ground.
Victoria also detailed her own battles with acne and said she could relate to her daughter’s struggles.
