Here we explain how to reserve your place

FIFA launches more than 1,000 new tickets for the World Cup final – here’s how to reserve your place

FIFA surprised soccer fans by releasing more than 1,000 tickets for the World Cup final on Friday, just before the quarterfinal match between Spain and Belgium.

The final, which seemed sold out days before, will take place on July 19, 2026 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

The newly released tickets for 1,200 seats on the upper deck cost about $7,380 each. The 68 seats on the lower deck are priced between $19,995 and $32,970. Hospitality packages with food and beverages cost between $32,500 and $34,500. On the FIFA resale market, ticket prices for the final range between $7,440 and $11.5 million.

World Cup ticket prices have drawn harsh criticism. The attorneys general of California, New York, New Jersey and Texas have expressed concerns to FIFA and some have even opened an investigation into the matter, accusing the organization of misleading fans about the location and quality of seats.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino has defended the price, saying demand for this World Cup increased tenfold or more compared to previous tournaments.

He noted that ticket prices started at $60 and the average price for the entire tournament was just under $500, which he said is much cheaper than most American sports.

How to book your place in the FIFA World Cup final:

  • Visit the official FIFA ticketing website.
  • Log in to your FIFA account or create a new one if you don’t have one.
  • Go to the 2026 World Cup tickets section.
  • Select the final game at MetLife Stadium.
  • Check available seat categories and prices.
  • Choose your preferred seats and add them to your cart.
  • Complete the payment using an accepted payment method.
  • After purchase, your tickets will be available through your FIFA Tickets account or on the official FIFA Tickets app, depending on FIFA’s delivery schedule.

Infantino insists that FIFA had no choice but to let prices rise with demand.
