King Charles’ secret strength that propelled him to rule Britain while battling cancer at age 77 has been revealed.
The British monarch does not stop his commitment to nations, but there is one big thing that helps him “move forward” in every crisis.
Before ascending the throne, he must have taken a secret oath about his role.
Long before illness tested him in 2024, at the age of 75, King Charles seems to have anchored himself in a credo: “a monarch serves, he does not surrender.”
It was never a public statement. But duty, it seems, has become his private vow, and cancer won’t force him to break it.
There is no doubt that Charles’ determination and his mother’s teachings forced him to put on a brave face to face all challenges.
However, a healthy mind needs a healthy body, and King Charles’s strict diet kept him strong during cancer at this stage.
Like all of us, the King needs to make drastic changes to his diet from time to time, and the latest one could be a big surprise for royal fans.
Although in the past King Charles was known to eat a larger, more nutritious and hearty meal to start his day, it seems he has started to ditch the larger breakfasts.
I would try to eat something healthy like cereal with nuts, fruits and a little honey. He has never been known to make large meals.
This represents a big change from the protein-rich breakfast that the King and his wife used to prefer in the past.
Five years ago, it was revealed on Clarence House’s official Instagram page that she enjoyed “baked eggs and cheese” for breakfast, including a photo of the delicious meal and a recipe.
With wilted spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, soft cheese and double cream, plus eggs and cheese, it’s a very nutritious, yet quite filling, meal option to start a long day.
It is well known that the King often skips lunch, although that may not be the case anymore, especially if he opts for smaller breakfasts.
He famously doesn’t eat lunch. The unusual fact was even recognized by Clarence House in a list of 70 facts published to mark the King’s (formerly Prince Charles) 70th birthday.
Without any explanation, number 20 on the list was: “The Prince doesn’t eat lunch.” However, following his cancer diagnosis in 2024, Charles was advised by his wife, Queen Camilla, and his doctors to start eating lunch.
Charles prefers healthy, hearty meals made from fresh produce, much of which is produced on his own Highgrove House farm.
The eco-warrior follows a mostly plant-based diet to reduce his carbon footprint. “For years I have not eaten meat or fish two days a week and I do not eat dairy products one day a week,” the royal told the BBC in 2021.
