- A leaker claims that this year there will be a Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 instead of a Watch 9 Classic
- They shared renders of the Ultra 2 and the Samsung Galaxy Watch 9
- They also stated that there will be beige, black and silver colors for them.
This year it looks like we could have a successor to the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra, as a new leak has revealed new details alongside the Samsung Galaxy Watch 9.
In X (via 9to5Google), leaker Galaxy Techie claimed that these are the two new Samsung smartwatches we’ll see this year, and that there won’t be a Classic. That post has also been suspiciously deleted.
This is at odds with some previous leaks that suggested we could get a Classic instead of, or in addition to, a new Ultra, so we’d take this with a pinch of salt. But it would make sense, since Samsung typically only releases new Classic models every two years, and we already got one last year with the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic.
A successor to the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2024 is certainly expected, and according to this source, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 will have a slightly more boxy design than its predecessor, along with slimmer bezels and an orange outline on the side button, instead of being all orange.
Three colors and some software changes.
The leaker also claims that both the Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2 will have new band designs and colors, listing variants of beige, black with a bluish band, and silver with a green band, although it’s unclear if these mean both models will come in those three shades.
Finally, they also shared some renders that, while lacking in details, give us an idea of the possible design of these wearables, along with the redesigned Samsung Health app and what appears to be a new dial selector, as you can see above.
In any case, we probably won’t have to wait much longer to officially see whatever wearable devices Samsung is preparing, as this year’s Galaxy Watches will likely launch in July.
