‘The president’s ruling states that no information can be provided about the proceedings of any session’
ISLAMABAD:
The IHC on Tuesday reserved its verdict on a petition filed by the National Assembly Secretariat challenging an order of the Information Commission of Pakistan regarding provision of details of parliamentary standing committees.
Justice Muhammad Azam Khan heard the case. Lawyer Hafiz Arafat, a lawyer for the National Assembly Secretariat, argued before the court that no details can be provided about the assembly sessions or standing committees, adding that there is also a decision by the president on the matter.
“The Speaker’s ruling states that no information can be provided about the proceedings of any session,” the lawyer said.
