Jaafar Jackson follows in his uncle Michael Jackson’s footsteps as he makes entertainment history.
The breakout actor, who played the King of Pop in a new biopic, just achieved a major career milestone: Michael officially becomes the highest-grossing actor in history, surpassing Elvis, Oppenheimer, Bohemian Rhapsody and more.
“Highest grossing biopic of ALL TIME,” he wrote on Instagram on Sunday, June 28.
“Wow!! Thank you all so much,” the 29-year-old continued. “This record, this achievement. It was one of my dream goals for this movie and you all made it happen.”
Jaafar then made a heartfelt prediction about how his late uncle would have felt about the honor.
“I promise you that Michael is up there smiling about this. This is for him,” he concluded.

The film also launched Jaafar to stardom, and he spoke about what the film meant to him while presenting an award during the BET Awards over the weekend.
