A former professional soccer player was criticized in a social media post, taking a backseat to her relatively more famous husband.
Future Pro Soccer Hall of Famer JJ Watt is married to Kealia Ohai Watt, a former member of the US Women’s National Team who played in the National Women’s Soccer League.
The couple attended an MLS game on Wednesday night, watching Real Salt Lake take on Burnley FC, of which the Watts are part owners, and the team welcomed the couple with an X post.

“Welcome to Riot, @JJWatt and family,” the team wrote.
Watt, however, was unhappy with the dismissal of his wife, a local football legend. Ohai attended Alta High School in nearby Sandy and won four state titles with his youth soccer club.
“The woman in the photo literally grew up on the same street, won 4 Utah State Championships (1 in this same stadium), Gatorade Player of the Year twice, National Player of the Year, scored the fastest first goal in USWNT history… It’s probably worth mentioning, but I don’t know,” Watt said in response.

Ohai also won a national championship with the University of North Carolina.
After college, she was the second overall pick in the NWSL College Draft by the Houston Dash, of which she was captain from 2016 until she was traded to the Chicago Red Stars in 2020.
The couple bought out Burnley FC, who played in the Premier League last season, in 2023.
