Khloé Kardashian responded to Lamar Odom’s latest comments in her Netflix documentary Untold: The Death and Life of Lamar Odom.
The former NBA star suggested he marry her for fame.
In the April 15 episode of her Khloé in wonderland On the podcast, the reality star addressed Odom’s comments head-on.
“You’re sitting in front of the camera saying you married me for fame,” she said, adding that she also, along with her fans, once believed their seven-year marriage was based on love.
“You, your friends, all of you are saying that you were with me just for the fame. That’s like bullshit. I feel so stupid, I spent hours and time making this documentary as a favor. You don’t pay me a dime.”
Accompanied by her old friend Malika Haqq, Kim Kardashian’s sister explained that she initially agreed to participate in the project to ensure that Odom’s story was portrayed in a positive light.
“I wanted to make sure it was handled in the best way,” he said. “You’ve been through enough negative things. Let’s change the tone here.”
But following the release of the documentary, Kardashian expressed frustration with Odom’s appearances in the press, where he appeared to downplay his role in her recovery after her near-fatal overdose in 2015.
“I don’t even need you to praise me,” he said. “But now you’re not going to make fun of me or play in my face because you don’t like the public’s reaction and response.”
A source close to Odom said MY! News that his commitments to the press were part of their agreement, not a personal choice.
The source emphasized that Odom has consistently acknowledged Kardashian’s support during his most difficult years.
