- UX 3.3 increases towing capacity and offers new camera features
- Event recording acts as a built -in board camera
- Halo’s safe functionality can protect the vehicle when it is parked
Lucid Motors high -tech SUV owners will receive an air update that brings some new impressive features.
Nicknamed UX 3.3, the updated operating system now offers user capacity to set destinations in navigation, while the map itself has been adjusted to give a better indication of the distance that is possible to travel with the remaining load of the EV.
According to the Californian company, the audio system has also been optimized to reduce background noise when making and receiving calls.
But perhaps the most interesting of all is the introduction of a live view function that takes advantage of the power of the numerous external cameras to transmit live images to the application of Lucid smartphones.
The software is in beta and gravity owners can try it for free until the end of the year. There is no word about the cost after that.
This feeds the last safe function of the brand, which rises directly from Tesla’s play book and allows owners to monitor the vehicle remotely through the application.
In addition to this, the unit recorder also acts as a built -in board. While the user connects an external storage device, such as a USB dongle or a portable hard drive, gravity will automatically record and automatically keep any significant event, such as extreme or sudden braking, acute direction entries or a collision, all assisted by the various on -board sensors.
It is a characteristic that has been strongly influenced by the pioneering use of Tesla of autopilot cameras, which can also save images on a USB device, whether manual or automatically when company sensors detect an incident.
Throwing power
Lucid gravity can handle a maximum trailer capacity of 6,000 pounds, which is not up to Rivian’s R1T or the various electrical trucks in the market, but it is good enough to transport lighter lifestyle accessories (ships, water motorcycles, motorcycles, etc.).
Lucid knows that it is a great point of sale, so it has also introduced a series of improved towing features, including a new trailer mode that optimizes vehicle configuration to obtain maximum performance and comfort.
There is also integrated towing control for those trailers equipped with electronic brakes and a special camera view on the rear view monitor that allows owners to monitor their precious possessions when towing.
According to the group of the owner of Lucid, these updates can be activated with a simple ota update, which demonstrates once again that the software defined the vehicles really improve with age.
